Evangelical Тhemes in F. M. Dostoevsky's Нovel 'The Brothers Karamazov'

Evangelical motives within F. M. Dostoevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov are the topic of the bachelor thesis. The theoretical part will be dedicated to analysis of spiritual streams, which have influenced political, social and cultural development in Russia in the 19th century. Then a research of relationship of Dostoevsky to Christianity and Orthodox Church will follow. In the practical part, the influence of gospel on formal and ideological aspect of the novel will be analyzed and the form and rate of the influence, which occurred in the novel, will be examined. The main emphasis will be put on a description of usage of the used motives of biblical parables (particularly The Parable of the Sower). Ivan Il'in's Concept of National Idea

The thesis deals with the Russian thinker I. A. Il'in's lifework putting emphasis on social and political philosophy. In consideration of the coherence of all his lifework the thesis is also dedicated to Il'in's metaphysics, epistemology and moral philosophy interpretation and his philosophical method description. Il'in's concept of the Russian "national idea" and its position in the context of the thinker's philosophical system are analysed as well. The analysis of this concept is to indicate to what extend it could be of universal nature having a potentiality for general application. The thesis focuses on problems that have not been discussed in the Czech literature yet, although being topical, including Il'in's criticism of totalitarianism and Western democracy model, his specific conception of nationalism or emphasis on the legal consciousness and the legal state.

Resumé Tématem bakalářské práce jsou křesťanské motivy v poetice románu Lva Nikolajeviče Tolstého Vzkříšení. Cílem práce bylo sledovat přístup autora ke křesťanskému učení v románu. První část práce se věnuje historii pravoslavné církve v Rusku, jejím dogmatům a tradicím. Dále se zabývá pojetím křesťanského učení Tolstého a z něj vyplývající idey "neprotivení se zlu násilím". Další část práce se věnuje románu Vzkříšení. Zkoumá, jak jsou hlavní ideová východiska v románu vyjádřena. Analýza textu odráží autorův negativní pohled na soudní systém. Lev Nikolajevič Tolstoj odsuzuje jeho nemorálnost a neefektivnost. Mluví o tom, že má soudní systém rozsáhlé negativní účinky na soudce, advokáty i všechny ostatní účastníky soudních řízení a osob součinných při výkonu trestů. Zákon není podle mínění Tolstého schopen spravedlivě potrestat zločince. Život odsouzených v nápravných zařízeních zcela znemožňuje nápravu. Rozřešení tohoto morálního a sociálního problému je spojeno s myšlenkami obsaženými v Matoušově evangeliu, což je také obsaženo v závěru románu. Dalším cílem práce byla analýza duchovního a morálního vývoje hlavních postav. U Maslovové i Něchljudova byl zjištěn dobrý duchovní stav do společně strávené noci. Poté lze u Maslovové pozorovat prudký obrat k nemorálnímu způsobu života. V Něchljudovově případě...

The Orthodox civilization? Genesis of Russian political religion through the prism of civilizational analysis

Thesis "The Orthodox civilization? Genesis of Russian political religion through the prism of civilizational analysis" has a historico-theoretical character. It presents an analysis of origins and evolution of two most important Russian ideologies which were expressed in religious terms. Using the civilizational perspective and by reconstructing of factual and mental context of two Russian ideologies, this thesis polemizes with religious determinant of Russian civilization. Specificity of nursing care of Ucraine and Russian clients

Each year the level of migration rises. In the Czech Republic, we observe a sustained increase of variety in terms of nationalities, cultures, ethnicities. Among the numerous communities that can be found within our borders are the ethnic groups of Russians and Ukrainians. The influence that a person's cultural background has on their behavior in times of sickness and in times of health is enormous. Culture has an impact not only on a person's lifestyle, but also on the way in which such a person responds to, and should be treated with, medical care and nursing. Medical staff should be aware of the different patterns of behavior of members of various nationalities and ethnicities. The objectives of this diploma thesis are: identify specific aspects of providing nursing services to the Russian and Ukrainian minorities, and ensure that Russian and Ukrainian clients are satisfied with the nursing service in our hospitals. This paper is divided into two sections. In the theoretical part, the reader may familiarize himself or herself with the religious beliefs that form a part of the life of Russian and Ukrainian clients. This part also includes an overview of the history of these peoples, their migration, their assimilation to our conditions, the issue of barriers to communication, and the ensuing problems. The practical part of this thesis relies on qualitative research via structured interviews within the Russian and Ukrainian communities, and on quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire with which we identified the degree to which nurses are knowledgeable in the belief system of orthodox christianity, and their opinion regarding the necessity of a specific approach to providing care to Russian and Ukrainian clients. Four research questions were formulated, and have drawn answers, in the course of our research. Based on this research, we put together a nursing standard that should facilitate and improve the care provided by nurses in our hospitals. The results of this research, and this thesis itself, could be used in practice to enhance, and to improve the quality, of nursing services rendered, as a training tool for nurses, to present the results on scientific or undergraduate conferences, and for publication in professional journals.
